NOTE: When I first started getting interested in photography, I wanted to photograph people. I would ask to set up a photoshoot and they would always respond "I'm busy". I finally started practicing on myself. Setting up the camera and striking a pose. All the while playing with props and seeing what kind of effects I could make. Thus creating a very extensive amount of "selfies". Through the years, as I've been able to photograph other people, the selfies got less & less. But I still enjoy a photoshoot from time to time. Just wanted to explain my abundance of selfies. Thanks for reading!

pensacola, fl beach photoshoot july 15 + 16, 2024
While planning a week long getaway, I thought I would take the opportunity to film my music video "Take Me To Summer". Then I decided to take it a step further and take updated pictures of my myself to use throughout my website. All photos were taken by me (with the use of a tripod and timer) and edited by me. For help with focusing, I put a wooden stick in the sand and used it as my marker for where to focus my camera, but also where to stand. It worked out beautifully.

my 30th birthday photoshoot march 14, 2022
This look was inspired by "Kida" from the 2001 Disney animated film: "Atlantis: The Lost Empire". Shot on location in Suches, GA, on "Preacher's Rock".
I had a clear image of what I wanted my photoshoot to look like. I wanted to showcase strength and victory. I had made it to 30. Living through my 20s seemed to all but destroy me. I wanted to showcase a woman who stood in victory. I wanted to be on a mountain and have a valley below. I wanted views across the horizon, and I wanted to clearly stand out against the terrain.
Someone sent me a video on tiktok of places to hike in Georgia. Preacher's Rock was showcased amongst the clips. I re-watched the video and paused it on the moment it showed "Preacher's Rock" and thought "THAT'S IT! ...This is where I want to have my photoshoot!"
It was everything I envisioned.
It couldn't have been any more perfect. I was a little disappointed that the mark of winter was still evident on the land, but I grew to appreciate the left over ice and snow. The dead trees and exposed rock. I believe the absence of spring made it look more like the remains of a land that once saw war, and I was standing triumphant at the top of the mountain.
Wearing white was the obvious choice. Abandoning my normal attire, I prefer to be in black, but to dress in white was to be noticeable. I was not meant to blend in but to make a screaming statement.
I hired a friend to help assist me up the one mile hike and also take pictures of me. I taught her on the spot how to use my camera and directed her how to angle the camera and what to focus on. I am grateful for the assistance, because the photoshoot would have took so much longer and been so much more complicated without her help. I edited the photos.
I had such a magical time creating this character and taking these pictures. People watched and yes, there was people around us while doing this. It was warm with the sun shining on my skin, but as soon as it began to set, it was ice cold on top of the mountain. We made it back to my jeep just before dark.
I discovered the beautiful, charming town of Blairsville, GA, while on this trip. I looked for a hotel that was close by that we could crash at. We arrived at night, so couldn't see anything. But when it was morning, I saw just how beautiful it truly was there. The towns people were so kind and welcoming. The stores had so many treasures to find. It is now a tradition to visit this town at least once a year.
Thank you for reading my story about my 30th birthday photoshoot. A documentary video will be made at some point and will be linked here.
