time to hustle

Last I posted, it was Saturday, November 11th. I announced that I had finished the "Creatures" section and was going to try and finish the other 5 sections.
Well, it's a little over a week later and I'm happy to report that ALL the sections have been completed. I've been working non-stop on adding content to every page, and I'm so ecstatic to announce that it's finally finished! It's all completed.

YES! That means all my graphics have been added, all my photography, my videos, any artwork I've created, and even my poems and songs are ALL in their rightful place. On their pages. Ready to be shown to the world.

I'm impressed. What took me half a year to do, took me a week to do. Switching platforms was the best decision I ever made for my website.
See, previously, I was coding my entire site with HTML + CSS. And the time it takes to code is EXTREMELY consuming. I realized that if I wanted to have a business, and maintain my site efficiently, I'd have to get a new platform to host my site. Instead of using a FTP server. I knew I would not be able to make things for people and take all this time to code my site. Something would suffer. Either my work, or my site.
So I switched to "weebly" and I LOVE IT! I have loved it from the start. But after seeing how something previously took me 6 months to do, now only took me a week and 2 days to do, is mind blowing. *insert explosive sound effect here*

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE that I know how to code and break down HTML and CSS. But it's definitely not ideal when you have a business you're trying to run and a site you're trying to upkeep.

So yes, I am VERY pleased to announce that my ENTIRE Personal Projects Section is FINITO!!! So you can head over there and check it out if you'd like. Some of my best work (in my opinion) is over there. So please pay a visit to one of those sections.

what else is to come?

I have 2 pages left in the "Clientele Photography" to add wedding pictures too. But other than that, I just have to upload all my Clientele Videos, and I'll be completely done with my Clientele section. Which is also super exciting!!
The sooner I get done, the sooner I can focus on other projects. And also do more work for clients without thinking of the amount of work I have left to do on my site.

In other news...
The photoshoot went great. I'm about to start sorting through the shots and editing them, and hopefully get that done as quickly as possible. I have 2 other photoshoots coming up at the end of the week. I need to get things done as quickly as possible.

It's time to hustle.

quick update

I am happy to announce that the entire "Creatures" section is finito!

Now all I have left to do is the other 5 sections in the "Personal Projects" photography section. Still a lot to do. But I've got 1 down! And that's progress. That's what counts!!

I really want to get it all down so I can focus on other projects. I just want to be done with it. I have an obsession with finishing things. Like, can we please!? PLEASE. LET'S FINISH THIS. Like Home Depot. Let's do this! So yes, I'm still chipping away at that.

I want to make a music video. I'm starving for it!! But I have other things that need my attention right now. Hopefully after the first of the year, I'll be able too. I'll keep you posted on that if and when that happens.

I've also added a new "section" to the home page that features "personal stats" about myself. Basically letting first time visitors know what I've done thus far. In both my photography and videography. I quite like how it looks. The stats are low right now, but in time, I'm hoping they go up. Hey, gotta start somewhere right?

In other news, I am going to look at a car Monday morning. (11/13) It's a white, Jeep Liberty. The Jeep is located in Montgomery, Alabama. Which is about an hour and a half from here.
And in short, if I like it, we are leaving with it. Which means, I get to drive it back home. All. the. way. home. Which is nerve racking for me, but also very exciting. It will give me a good hour and a half to bond with my very first car! And learn the new vehicle.

Having my own car is a HUGE deal. It's a very necessary and vital step that needs to happen before my business really takes off. It's not just convenient for me in my day to day life, It's also a great benefit to my business. I can take props with me for photoshoots. Let people ride with me, if they need it. And the biggest thing is I'll be able to travel as I need. Instead of borrowing my mom's car and leaving her stranded somewhere. I'll be able to hop in and drive to a location where I'm filming or photographing at, and not be wondering "how is my mom getting home?"

I think having my own car will give me the convenience I've been wanting. Some peace of mind I've been lacking. And the confidence in knowing that I'll be able to move forward with my business, and not be hindered because of transportation issues.

So all in all, I'm very excited for what's to come.

In the meantime, I have 3 photoshoots coming up. And 2 (as of right now) coming up in December. So some new pictures will be coming at you real soon.

I Won't Give up (one page at a time)

So, a lot has happened since I last updated this blog.
We did move into a new house. And I did get my internet back. I've been working as much as I can on the site. Trying to get all my content that's on the old site, on to this one. Including some new content that wasn't added to the old one.

I just finished the "personal pets" page and the "miscellaneous" page.
I have "wildlife" left to do, and I'll be done with the entire "creatures" section.
I still have the other sections to code for my personal projects photography section. I'm hoping it goes by faster than it has been while coding the "personal pets" page. It seemed to have taken forever. And I still have 2 pages to add content too in the "photography for clientele" section.

I'm just taking it all, one page at a time. (Sounds like what the title of this entry should be.)

I also FINALLY created a playlist for people to listen too while they browse the site.
So you can now click on that on the front page and check that out. If you want.

In the meantime, I've been booking people for photoshoots which makes me incredibly happy.
It makes me feel like I'm a little bit closer to living my dreams. And don't get me wrong. I feel like I am. I'm just not living it to the fullest capacity that I'd like too. But baby steps. Baby steps. Every little session or piece of work I get to make for someone, takes me a little bit closer to my goals. It makes me feel like I'm heading in the right direction. And I'm doing all I can.

Other than that, I'm busy with my 2nd job. And trying to learn how to balance my time between these 2 jobs. I'm also in the process of trying to get my first car! Super excited about that. But also really needing it. I hope something works out soon. It's getting difficult having to share a car and work around other people's schedules.
